The quake was pretty mild here...probably about a 4.0. I was driving at the time so I missed all of the action, but Reba and my friend Maxine said it was a "roller" rather than a "shaker". Maxine said the floor rolled like a blanket would if you shook it out to put on your bed. She said the scary thing was watching the window bow out. Reba didn't notice the windows, but she said nothing fell off the shelves or off the walls...always a good indication that a quake is not too bad. She did hear the rattling. From the reports I've seen there hasn't been any structural damage in the Portland area. God seems to have saved it all for the Seattle area this time. Thank You. Peter didn't really notice it at work, Amber felt it, but thought it was her vertigo bothering her again. Calvin's school got a chance to do their earthquake duck and cover drill for real. Actually, one of his classmates was jiggling his feet when the quake started and thought that he was causing the windows to rattle and the desks to shake. Knew for sure he was in trouble. I guess he was relieved it was "just" an earthquake! Thanks for checking in on us. That's really all the news from here in Duck (and cover) Country. Hugs, Rachelle
