You are more powerful than you think.

Recently I heard the statement, "You are more powerful than you think."

The author then went on to say, "...I know all the extremely tough things that you have had to endure, that you have gone through in your life, and that you've made happen."

The author was speaking to a group of people with various sickness and dis-ease, and how they needed to change their lifestyle in order to get better.

This really got me thinking, because I only thought of people who were powerful because they accomplished great things. Nothing can be further from the truth.

Consider a person who has dealt with sickness, maybe for their entire life. They have gone through many things, more so than most average Americans.

How about a person, that has gone through a real tough relationship, say in their job, or marriage. A lot of people give up. But the tough ones are not the ones that necessarily had victory according to the world's standard, but those who have endured.

Recently I have met a number of different people who have gone through some really tough things. In the past I would think that's too bad, all that I would know to do is pray for them.

I have ALWAYS thought that the powerful people are those who accomplished great things. Many of these people overcame great obstacles.

But the truth is that there are a number of people that have endured and gone through some incredibly tough things, who are powerful people.

Part of our job as Christians is to encourage them to use this strength to do God's thing, and many times only He knows what that is.

I would encourage them that they can do it. They can accomplish anything if they put their mind to it.

Along this same vain I've learned that one of the greatest things that a person can lose is hope. That is why we need to find God's way, because God's ways are health and life.

Yesterday was my 30th High School class reunion.

I read in the class reunion book that some of the classmates said they were getting tired. Makes me wonder how many of them (including myself) are tired of doing the same old thing(s) over and over, same stuff that never works. Consider your vocation. Say you spend 20 years making widgits. If you truely loved your work and it was a God thing why would you be tired. On the other had if you spent 20 years making widgits, and it was a God thing, I would hope that he showed you how to make a lot of different widgets (with a purpose). The point is I think we all tired of making the same mistakes over and over.

Ok so we all make mistakes. You've heard it before, "GET OVER IT."
I know that is much easier said than done.
Ok so you can't change the past, but you can change your outlook and perspective. Only you can change you.

The Bible says greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world. That got me thinking about the less than, greater than math signs < >
Are our problems greater than God's solutions? Consider this, how often does the sun rise? The last time you got a cut, did it heal? When you got out of bed, How many pounds did you lift (A: how much do you weight?)
The point is we often are so focused on what's wrong and our inabilities that we fail to see God's goodness and design for everyday miracles. (I'll talk about miracles later.)
The last time you got in a fit of anger. Did your body shut down? (let's hope not.) Most likely your body functions kept going without you even thinking about it. Why not trust that if we do the right thing, things that bother us the most will work out right.
I know that is easier said than done, but try it.
