A picture is worth a thousand words

What has the Gospel cost you?
Romans 10:15b As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"
I love Shari's feet, I love Shari, I love all of Shari.
Thanks for your prayers, support, and faithfulness.

Shari back home in Indiana
Yesterday our friend Glenna Jehl and I went to the Chicago O'Hare Airport to bring Shari back home to Indiana. Shari was ever so thankful for God's provision for the person(s) that bought the fly First Class ticket From Tel Aviv to Chicago. She was treated with special care including ambulance service from the Hadassah hospital to the Tel Aviv airport and a special ramp to get her on the airplane.
Even though she hadn't sleep much in the past 24 hours, Shari was filled with one adventure story after another. Telling details of "entire" hospital stay. How they sharing the Gospel on their many trips to Israel with anyone irregardless situations, language, or religious persuation. Times they got into trouble. (opps) Times of powerful worship from the most strategic places. None the less we were glad just to see Shari in one piece.
Please continue to pray for God's complete healing and provision.
Through it all one verse of scriptures stands out.
Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

More photos to Pray by
Shalom,
Shari is having such an impact in the hospital! The Israelis have taken her to heart. The Orthodox woman in this photo is 82 and her family are in the other photo. Shari shared her faith with all of them as well as the anti-missionary Orthodox team who paid her a "pastoral"
visit in the hospital. Other notable visitors included Nehemia Gordon, the Dead Sea Scrolls scholar who spoke at our conference.
Will be praying for her safe return and re-entry into family life, cd

How Beautiful are your Feet
Several days ago I recieved two photographs of Shari in the Hadassah, hospital, in Mount Scopus, Israel. I loved both pictures. One is this picture of Shari laying on the bed.
The other is a graphic picture of Shari's injured foot. To which I replied and wrote: "Thank you for the beautiful pictures.
I love Shari's feet, I love Shari, I love all of Shari.
Romans 10:14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"
Isaiah 52:7
7 How beautiful on the mountains
are the feet of those who bring good news,
who proclaim peace,
who bring good tidings,
who proclaim salvation,
who say to Zion,
"Your God reigns!"

The Armor of God
Ephesians 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.19 Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.
Song of Solomon 7
1 How beautiful your sandaled feet,
O prince's daughter!
Your graceful legs are like jewels,
the work of a craftsman's hands.
Shari to come home
Everything is in place for Shari to fly from Tel Aviv to Chicago on Monday, May 9, 2005
I will drive to Chicago and pick her up from the airport.
Tonight I called Shari at the Hospital. Shari was in good spirits, and her leg is healing.
Thank you for your prayers, and words of encouragement.
God is doing special miracles. Hard part for is that sometimes we have to wait.

Praise report and update.
Evangelist Christine Darg (who put together the itinerary for this Egypt/Israel missions journey) in an email wrote this about Shari:
"Shari has a brilliant mind and comes across something like a Colombo character, which is a very disarming weapon of the Lord. You should have seen the way she handled the Arabs in Cairo! Awesome."
The doctors said that the break was the worst kind of break there is. But in surgery the same doctors said that the hand of God was with them because everything that could go right, went right with the surgery. Praise God! Apparently the surgery was 5 and 1/2 hours. The Hadassah hospital where she is at is one the best hospitals in the world, where they send all of the terrorist and war victims, to put body parts back together. The main concern now is for proper healing and that there is no infection.
I pray in the name of Jesus Christ that Shari's body works together as God designed and intended it to, with His healing, and the breath of life to broken bones and weary souls.
God has given us an incredible gift life.
Shari will need help coming home. She has to keep her leg elevated and cannot walk on crutches for at least 6 weeks. Shari will need a direct flight to come home. When I asked Shari about coming to pick her up, all she thought about was the expense. Actually I heard her Jewish lawyer side come jumping out of her mouth as she was talking to me. I was somewhat relieved, Yep that the Shari I know! However we will have to trust the Lord for his provision to bring her home.
Last night I spoke with our son Mike Jr. Mike has accepted a summer intern job to a write computer programs to help find a cure for cancer. When Mike was in high school many of the teachers told him how bright he was and that he should go and find a cure for cancer. Well those words must have been prophetic. Mike is majoring in computer science and math, both of these skills are vital to writing computer programs, that can be used to research a cure for cancer.
Today our youngest son David finishes up track. Next year he is committed to do cross country (running), swimming and track in the spring time. Both his mom and I, and Mike Jr. are so proud of him. Earlier this year we ran around our block (about a mile), David had trouble keep up with me. Now I have trouble keep up with him
Thank you for you continued prayers and concern. The past couple of years have been a challenge for all of us in our home. But with the Lord's help and trust in Him, He will see us through.
