Yesterday, August 23, Shari underwent shoulder surgery. The surgery was done as an outpatient and went well. However, today she is in excruciating pain despite the powerful pain medication. PLEASE PRAY for the pain to cease and for her complete healing.
When Shari fell and broke her ankle in Jerusalem she ended up injuring her shoulder.
For the past month Shari has been able to get around by herself with the help of the walker. She has been able to drive, go swimming, and to the store. (She really liked riding the motorized shopping cart.) On Monday the day before the surgery, Shari took back the walker, and walked in her regular shoes for the first time since the accident.

1. It was a miracle that Shari did not bleed to death. At the time of the accident some 60+ people gathered around and started praying. Jews, and Arabs. One of them a Jew was an emergency medic, who jumped in and stopped the bleeding.
2. It was a miracle that they saved her foot and that it did not have any infection. The accident happened on the streets of Jerusalem. She was wearing sandals at the time.
3. It was a miracle that she did not hit her head when she fell. Instead she landed on her shoulder. A month after the initial accident the doctors here did an MRI and determined that surgery is needed to repair the shoulder. We are praying that God does another miracle to heal her shoulder without surgery.
4. It was a miracle that the Lord provided a FIRST CLASS ticket from Tel Aviv to Chicago ten days after the accident.
5. It is a miracle how well my Shari's ankle is healing. Last month ago she went to the local orthopedic specialist for check-up. The doctor was amazed how well the ankle is healing.
